Bill Brawley Has Served:
The Republican Party as a Member:
- Bill joined the Young Republicans in 1968 and was a GA State YR Convention Delegate.
- Bill joined the Mecklenburg GOP Party in 1972, the UNCC CR Club in 1974.
- Bill was a delegate to the NC State GOP Convention for the first time in 1977 and has served as a precinct officer, a county delegate, district delegate, and delegate to state GOP conventions numerous times since; he has also been the convention secretary for the Ninth District Convention.
Republican Campaigns as a Worker:
- Presidential: Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford, and John McCain.
- Senate: Jessie Helms and John East.
- Congressional: Jim Martin and Sue Myrick.
- Charlotte Mayor: Ken Harris, Pat McCrory, and John Lassiter.
- County Commission: Dan Ramirez, Ruth Samuelson, Ken Andrews, and Dave Sentelle.
- Legislative: Fletcher Hartsell, Roy Spoon, Joe Beard, Connie Wilson, Bob Rucho, and Jim Gulley.
The People of North Carolina:
- Two Terms on the Matthews Town Council
- 11 Years on the Mecklenburg Park Commission representing the Southern Towns.
- The Citizens Blue Ribbon Commission on County Governance, which drew a plan for the County Commission, approved by the voters in 1992, and changed by the Democrats in Raleigh in 1993.
- In the US Army, enlisted in August 1969, served on active duty from October 1969 until August 1972. Honorably discharged August 1975.
